When I see a Mud puddle I step around it

When I look at a patch of dandelions, I see a bunch of weeds that are going to take over my yard. My kids see flowers for Mom and blowing white fluff you can wish on.

When I look at an old drunk and he smiles at me, I see a smelly, dirty person who probably wants money and I look away. My kids see someone smiling at them and they smile back.

When I hear music I love, I know I can’t carry a tune and don’t have much rhythm so I sit self-consciously and listen. My kids feel the beat and move to it. They sing out the words. If they don’t know them, they make up their own.

When I feel wind on my face, I brace myself against it. I feel it messing up my hair and pulling me back when I walk. My kids close their eyes, spread their arms and fly with it, until they fall to the ground laughing.

When I pray, I say thee and thou and grant me this, give me that. My kids say, "Hi God! Thanks for my toys and my friends. Please keep the bad dreams away tonight."

When I see a mud puddle I step around it. I see muddy shoes and dirty carpets. My kids sit in it. They see dams to build, rivers to cross, and worms to play with.

I wonder if we are given kids to teach or to learn from? No wonder God loves the little children! Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

I wish you Big Mud Puddles and Sunny Yellow Dandelions!

Out With The Girls

This morning some of the girls and our kids went out for breakfast and then to the park. It went way better than I could have expected, though I am not sure what the waiter at the IHOP thought. There were 12 of us, and 7 of those were kids!!!!! Yes mom I left him a big tip.... All of the kids were better than we could have asked for especially after they waited for everyone (uhhumm..Stephanie..it was 9:30 not 10:00) before we ordered. We then went to the Fletcher Park and the kids played while we chit chatted. It was me and Coy, Stephanie and her little ducklings Austin,Summer, and Sophie, Brenda and her little guy Lucas, Melissa (who got me into the whole bloggong idea...Thanks so much...) and her princess Cloey, and Brendas friend Stephanie whom I met for the first time, and her little girl Corbit(hope I spelled that right.... I love being around little girls....they are so different than my 2.....

Tanner's First day of 4th Grade

Tanner started the 4th grade last Thursday...Wow!!! Can you even imagine??? He is so fine with the whole school routine...he gets up at 6:20 and eats breakfast while I take a shower. Then at 6:45 he gets in the shower. He is out about 7 then gets dressed, then I put his contacts in for him, and make sure he has DO on so no BO (LOL). Then Papaw gets here about 7:25 and Tanner and I leave for our busy day. Coy has yet to be up when we leave, he is such a stinker.

Me

Wow...Things are going really good for me right now, It is like a calm before a storm, I hope nothing is lurking on the horizon. I am at a point in my life where I have some really good adult friends, the kind you haven't known since you were a child and are just mature. Tanner is back in school and loves it, Coy is hanging out with Papaw and not wanting to go back to school. My sister and I are back on pretty good speaking terms and actually enjoying each other. Keith is more content and settled in his job since the take over. He has cooked supper 3 times in the past 2 weeks...WOW!!!! Work is going really well, we actually got a small bonus for the first time in forever.... Just feeling real good about my corner of the world....

PINEHURST

The boys and I went to my sisters new house in Pinehurst this past weekend, we actually found the country club and I hopped out and took pictures (that is my car you can see just behind the P). Pinehusrt is really pretty, it is like a larger scale Biltmore Forest.

Brianna and I worked hard on unpacking and arranging her room, it is so cool, she has the bonus room above the garage, and it has a Huge full bathroom!!!

The livingroom has a built in for the TV above the fireplace, the three of us got the tv in there.

This is Allison's room, it is so pretty, it is half pink half purple, with a princess border.

Montreat Park

Friday the boys and I went to Montreat with some of my close friends and their kids. The park there was so Great. Everyone had such a good time. There is great play equipment, which you will see no pictures of because I couldn't get my kids out of the creek long enough to notice the swings and slides, and creeks running right in the middle and around the perimeter. Shelley brought Lexi her niece who is 8 so even Tanner had someone to play with. Coy had a Great time with Parker Buddy, he has not warmed up Gabby yet, or Gabby just won't tolerate him yet...teeheehee.... Lori had baby Grant too, so we passed him around to love on him. Stephanie brought the triplets who are not all the same age....haha..lol... Summer and Austin are twins and are 3, and Sophie is 2, but to see them in a row like little ducklings you would never guess they weren't triplets..... I Love Having friends....

Camping (Very Happy)and my Heart Breaking

We are back from a wonderful weekend of the great outdoors, the boys had so much fun playing in the creek, and the dirt.... Keith did most of the cooking :) It is so much work to camp, but it is soooo worth it. Tanner couldn't get to sleep the first night because of the street lights, the crickets, and the sound of the creek...Just a reminder of why we need to go... Coy is such an outdoor guy, and he slept very soundly. I will post pics soon.
I left my phone in the car, you know trying to be PRIMITIVE and all, I left it on, just in the car. Last night about 9 I went to turn it off and had a text from my good friend Laura that I work with, she is the gal that went with me to the overnight crop at Ridgecrest, and she took one of her friends, Melissa. I now consider Melissa my friend also, such a fun bright person with 2 beautiful girls. Melissa makes such wonderful pages in her scrapbooks, she was going to attend the a crop with me last weekend, but she has been hospitalized. So why all the background on this great gal, well, the text sent my heart to my toes and my stomach to my throat. There is no one on this earth that can understand what children mean to a mother, other than a mother, young or old. Melissa was approx 25 weeks pregnant and had been hospitalized approx 3 weeks with complete placenta previa. There was an emergency C-Section performed but baby Clarisia was returned to her heavenly father, Melissa survived. Oh how the chills are making my hair stand on end. I found out when my friend Julie had a similar situation while I was pregnant with Coy how deeply it affected me, as My friend Laura is pregnant and just a few weeks behind Melissa. Though she does have other children, that is not the point, when you want more it does not help to say, at least you have the 2, I remember how that would break my friend Julie's heart. Melissa's is a strong woman with a wonderful church and friends to support her, she will recover, but her heart will always ache and rejoice for that beautiful baby.

CAMPING IN BAT CAVE

Well we are leaving going CAMPING today for Tanner's birthday weekend!! He is so excited. We asked him earlier in the week if he wanted to go to the lake and stay in the camper and go to splash country...he said that is not PRMITIVE..go figure....
